Dependability for high-tech systems: an industry-as-laboratory approach

Prof. Dr. Ed Brinksma, Embedded Systems Institute, Eindhoven/NL

Abstract:

The dependability of high-volume embedded systems, such as consumer
electronic devices, is threatened by a combination of quickly
increasing complexity, decreasing time-to-market, and strong cost
constraints. This poses challenging research questions that are
investigated in the Trader project, following an
industry-as-laboratory approach. This project is carried out by the
Embedded Systems Institute with NXP as Carrying Industrial Partner. We
present the main vision of this project, which is based on a
model-based control paradigm, and the current status of the project
results.
