ESA approves proposal

The MOVES Group has submitted a proposal to the European Space Agency in answer to the Invitation to Tender AO/1-5458/07/NL/JD, System-Software Co-Engineering: Performance and Verification.  The proposal was accepted without modifications.  Together with the partner institutes, the Centre for Scientific and Technological Research at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, Italy, and Thales Alenia Space, Cannes, France, the MOVES group is responsible to develop a “theoretical and technological basis for the system-software co-engineering approach focusing on a coherent set of specification and analysis techniques for evaluation of system-level correctness, safety, dependability and performance (performability) of the on-board
computer-based systems.”

The project aims to develop formalisms, algorithms, techniques, and tools for the specification and analysis of  hard/software systems, and to demonstrate their applicability in practical relevant case studies approved by ESA.

ESA sponsors this project  with 500 kEURO.  Kick-off is February 1, 2008.
